Fiveways End – the origin post

Six TurningsFiveways End, like so many of my ideas for stories, didn’t start with a story. There were no characters with a need to fulfil, there was just a name for a fictional town in which something would happen.

The name of Fiveways End was inspired by this signpost for Six Corners which I passed in 2010 while near Mylor Bridge in Cornwall. Over time the name morphed from six to five, and after a short time as Fiveways Cross, became Fiveways End.

In Six Corners there is a junction of six roads.

I have no idea why Fiveways End is called Fiveways End.
